How to draw a signature mark on a PDF

Use the Draw option inside AlphaPDF’s Sign tool when you want a freehand visible signature mark. Confirm the recipient permits that format before you edit the file.

Draw first, then place

The signature panel gives you a drawing area and controls to undo or clear the mark. Make a readable mark there before placing it on the document. Drawing a mark does not verify who created it.

Leave room around the line

Check the form’s signature area and any adjacent date, name or witness fields. A large mark can cover information even if it fits within the page. Position and scale it with the surrounding form in view.

Steps in AlphaPDF

1. Open the PDF and select its signature page. Choose Sign.
2. Use the Draw option to create the mark with the available pointer input. Use Clear or Undo if it needs another attempt.
3. Choose Place drawn signature, then Select to move it or use its corner handle to resize it.
4. Export with an available allowance and save the result.

Check the result

Open the downloaded file at a practical reading size. Check the mark’s location and legibility and inspect the other required fields. Keep the original separately until you are satisfied with the completed copy.
