How to extract selected pages from a PDF

Use Extract selected pages when you need a smaller PDF containing only particular pages. Simply viewing a page or selecting thumbnails does not make the One PDF export mode exclude everything else.

Write down the required pages

Suppose a recipient wants the summary and appendix, but not the intervening report. Identify those pages by their content and position. Printed page numbers can restart or differ from the page rail. Confirm which version of the report you are using before making the selection.

Keep selection separate from splitting

Extraction creates a PDF from the selected pages. Split into a ZIP is for dividing the document at section boundaries. If your goal is one file containing a selection, extraction is the relevant choice.

Steps in AlphaPDF

1. Open your PDF in the AlphaPDF editor from the split-tool page.
2. Use the page-selection buttons in the rail for each wanted page. The buttons are labeled for selecting that page for export.
3. Open Export and choose Extract selected pages. Check the displayed selected-page count before proceeding.
4. Review quality, export with an available allowance and save the result under a name that distinguishes it from the full source.

Check the result

Open the saved file and verify both inclusion and exclusion: every required page is present, and no unintended page remains. Check the sequence rather than assuming the order in which you clicked controls is the final reading order.

Removing whole pages is not redaction of information on the pages you keep. Preserve the source separately if you may need the complete document again.
