PDF upload not working? Check format, size and access first

If a PDF does not open in AlphaPDF, check the input before retrying. A repeat upload will not fix the wrong file type, an oversized file or a document the free editor cannot open.

Confirm the file and its limits

The free-tool pages currently accept PDF input with a 50 MB per-file limit, up to 100 files and 500 MB per workspace. Check both the individual file and the total selection. A filename ending in .pdf alone is not a reason to assume the contents are a usable PDF.

Check whether you can open the source

Open the source in a PDF reader you already use. If it needs a password or fails there too, resolve that source-file problem first. Do not repeatedly upload a damaged or inaccessible copy. Only work with documents you are authorized to use.

Steps in AlphaPDF

1. Select the exact intended file and inspect its size and format.
2. Reduce the number of files in the attempted upload if the workspace selection exceeds the published limits; do not omit required content from the final handoff without a plan.
3. Use Select PDF files, choose an eligible PDF and then Open in editor.
4. Read any displayed error and distinguish an import failure from a later export-allowance message.

Check the result

After the editor opens, confirm that the expected pages appear and can be inspected. An accepted file selection is not yet a verified completed export. Save and check the final result separately when your allowance permits.

The free editor does not convert arbitrary input formats into PDF through this upload control. This checklist is a first diagnosis, not a guarantee that every technically valid PDF will process successfully.
