How to rotate sideways pages in a PDF

A sideways page can make an otherwise usable PDF awkward to read. Select that page in AlphaPDF and use the left or right rotation control before exporting a corrected copy.

Fix the affected page, not the whole packet

A document can contain a mixture of portrait pages, landscape tables and incorrectly oriented scans. Landscape is not itself a mistake. Inspect the text direction and turn only the pages that need correction.

Use a recognizable landmark

Before rotating, identify the page heading or top edge. After each turn, check that the heading and body text read in the expected direction. An upside-down page may need two quarter-turns; do not infer the final orientation from the thumbnail alone.

Steps in AlphaPDF

1. Open the PDF in the editor and click the affected page in the rail.
2. Choose Right or Left. Inspect the large preview after the turn.
3. If the direction is wrong, use Undo or turn it back. Repeat for any other affected pages.
4. Choose Export and One PDF if you want the complete corrected document. Save the export when your allowance permits.

Check the result

Reopen the downloaded PDF. Visit each corrected page and confirm that the rest of the document has retained its intended orientation and sequence.

Rotation changes page orientation; it does not repair blurred scans, change the wording or establish that a form is complete. Keep your original copy until the corrected version has been checked.
