What it does

PDF to SVG writes the drawing on each page as SVG vector graphics. Lines, shapes and text outlines stay sharp at any size, which suits charts, diagrams, logos and illustrations.

When to use it

Use it to hand a chart to a designer, place a diagram on a website without blurring, or edit a drawing in Illustrator or Inkscape.

How to use PDF to SVG

Sign in with an account that has Premium access.
Upload .pdf files. Each file can be up to 50 MB, with up to 25 files per batch.
The output is set to SVG. Review the available settings and choose a 1, 7 or 30-day retention period.
Start the job, then download and check the result before its retention period ends.

SVG does not vectorize a scanned photograph. Embedded raster artwork retains its original detail; DPI controls do not apply to SVG output.

Photos and scans inside the PDF stay as pictures inside the SVG. It does not trace a scanned image into vectors.

Processing limits

Up to 50 MB per input; 25 files and 500 MB per batch. PDF limit: 2000 pages. Up to 2 active jobs per account. Output limit: 1000 MB. Renderer limits can reject especially large pages or images.

Common questions

Can I edit the SVG?

Yes. Open it in a vector editor such as Inkscape or Illustrator.

Why is there no DPI setting?

Vector graphics have no fixed resolution, so the setting does not apply.

Will a scanned page become vector art?

No. A scan is a photo of a page and stays a photo inside the SVG.

Can I export only one page?

Yes. Choose a page range and only those pages are exported.
